There is no mystery to the fact that women and men are different. They are not identical beings simply packaged differently. In many regards, men and women do things differently, think differently, and communicate differently. For example, women are very comfortable expressing how they feel. Unlike men, women do not feel the need to hide emotions or weaknesses.
Usually when a woman says she is feeling lonely or overly sensitive or sad, she simply wants her partner to acknowledge how she feels.
Men, however, feel that they are being criticized or held responsible for what the woman is feeling when she shares it with him. In most cases, men will offer solutions about how not to feel that way and the woman feels he isn’t listening.
Just being aware of this fundamental difference can smooth the way for better communication and support between the sexes. My next blog will be about how to improve communication with the opposite sex.
